With so many options to choose from it can be a daunting task to pick the best fuel for you and your requirements. So we want to answer a question we're asked a lot, "which fuel is best for me?".
With the growth in the use of solid fuel in recent years, with multi-fuel stoves, for example, becoming more and more popular, it is difficult knowing which type you are supposed to use. That is why here at HouseFuel, we do not have a long, drawn-out range but stock three quality fuels for use on a wide range of appliances.
HouseFuel Premium Coal
Our HouseFuel Premium Coal is a grade A fuel considered the best available on the market. The coal provides excellent heat output with very little ash content. The high carbon content produces an efficient fire with little wastage and low maintenance.
The House Coal is available in both doubles and trebles. This does not relate to the quality of the coal but relatively its standard average size. Doubles are typically between 25-50mm, whilst trebles are 50-90mm.
HouseFuel Premium Coal cannot be used in Smoke Control Areas. If you are unsure whether you reside in one or not, please contact your local authority.

HouseFuel Smokeless Ovals
Our HouseFuel Smokeless Ovals are a premium and cost-effective fuel for use on various appliances. This superior product with low ash content burns hotter, cleaner, and longer than traditional house coal. The ovals provide fantastic heat output and are authorised for Smoke Control Areas.

Anthracite Small Nuts
Anthracite is a natural smokeless fuel that closely connects to create an intense fire bed. This provides excellent efficiency and value for the money burning consistently for a long time. The nuts do, however, require very good airflow to burn well due to their high purity and carbon content. This makes them difficult to light and sustain in some appliances like multi-fuel stoves. Anthracite can be burned in Smoke Control Areas.
