HouseFuel Premium Coal is a great, cost-effective fuel for open fires.
This is the highest quality coal available on the market. It provides incredibly high heat output with very little ash, reducing cleaning time.
HouseFuel Premium Coal provides high radiant heat with a beautiful flame helping to make the fireplace the centrepiece of any room.
Doubles and trebles do not relate to the quality of the coal. Instead, they are an approximation of size. Typically doubles are 25-50mm, whilst trebles are 50-90mm.

Delivery Service for House Coal
With a change in legislation, effective the 1st May 2021, House Coal in England can only be delivered in open sacks by an Approved Coal Merchant. Our usual pallet delivery service can’t do this, so we’ve put in place an alternative method to have your Coal hand-delivered:
When you order House Coal, the fuel will be delivered by hand in 25kg Plastic Bags.
Our delivery partner will leave the House Coal in a safe place on your property or were directed to (if safe and reasonable to do so).
The House Coal can be tipped into a suitable coal bunker or store, and the empty bags will be taken away for recycling.
Alternatively, the House Coal can remain in the bags. However, please note that the bags will be cut open before our delivery partner leaves your premises to comply with the new legislation.
Delivery Time is within five working days of order.
You do not need to be at home for delivery to take place.
All postcodes will incur a delivery charge which will be added during the checkout.
This coal is brilliant. The claims that this Colombian burns better and produces less ash than the Scottish coal seem to me to be correct., one would presume because the coal mines in Colombia have been subject to a richer array of plant life, heat and pressure than the Scottish coal. It is a little more expensive than the Scottish coal but perhaps worth the extra given the way it performs. In addition the sizing of these doubles appear to be, on average slightly larger than its Scots counterpart .
Sadly the packaging doesn't say what the carbon content is (essentially the carbon is what gives the heat, so avoid these cheaper 'low carbon' alternatives or you are just burning hydrogen and oxygen sometimes mixed with non-coal waste product) but it burns like an excellent grade of coal as advertised.
As a bonus with my order about half a bag worth of lose coal came on top of the pallet (don't know if this was an intentional gift or just a spillage from something else, but nice to get :) )

I bought a (metric) tonne of Scottish Coal doubles in Sept 2015. Every bag has burnt well and provided a fantastic open fire with a lovely warm glow. Over a year later I'm about halfway through the last purchase and I've worked out that heating our home with these for approx
